5 Fun Things To Do At Home

With the current restrictions on leaving your home, it is inevitable some days will feel harder to fill than others, but instead of procrastinating or climbing the walls, why not use this time to do something productive? Productive can be fun and also grant you daily purpose, because it is always fulfilling to get on top of things that perhaps you don't have time for on a regular schedule.

1. ORGANISE YOUR PANTRY/KITCHEN CUPBOARDS

Organisation skills in the kitchen allow for a streamlined place to cook your best and favorite meals. No one expects perfection, but keeping things simple and neat means finding the sugar or that unusual spice that much easier! Using glass containers for dry goods such as pasta and rice keeps them fresh for longer and reduces your plastic usage. Get yourself a label maker and you can also date your products to make sure nothing goes to waste.

2. MAKE ROOM FOR SOME CREATIVITY

Whether it is painting, drawing, music, writing - whatever creative outlet you choose, it can be an incredibly therapeutic practice during these stressful times.  Fun for the whole family, even if you simply clear the living room and get the paper and paints out on the floor, repaint the cubby house or start that novel you have always wanted to write, just make sure you dance around and have some fun while you do it!

3. HOME THEATRE

We understand not everyone can have a Hollywood theatre in their own home, but creating special movie nights or investing in a projector can change the ordinary TV watching into a more enjoyable and group activity. Cushions galore, L shaped sofas and popcorn at the ready!

4. PLANT POTTING

With the cooler months coming, now is the time to invest in the greenery in your home. Extra water and morning sun will be the lifesaver through the winter. Make sure they have the correct sized pots so that their growth isn't restricted and they can flourish with you during this time at home! Paint new designs onto any plainer looking pots, go for a coastal style with some woven cane baskets or craft some hanging boxes for a species such as the Golden Pathos.

5. HOME BAKING

When popping down to the bakery isn't an option anymore, there are so many easy recipes to do at home. From banana bread to muffins, sweet or savory, this can be an activity for the whole family or a time to learn some basic baking skills that will continue to impress in the future.
