Revamp your Dining room

5 Steps to help you wine and dine in style and comfort

As the autumn starts to draw in, we’re thinking of all the seasonal perks that comes with it, including long slow-cooked, home-cooked dinners with loved ones in comfortable surroundings. Get inspired and show some love to your dining area, with these easy top tips.

Experiment with Mixing and Matching if that appeals to your sense of style

Dining room ‘sets’ have traditionally been pretty unified in style, but increasingly we’re seeing a break away from that with use of different types and size of chairs in different colours and styles. Also try adding a different colour or style of buffet to switch things up a bit. Shop Dining Chairs

Make the most of your space

If you’re dealing with a narrow space for your dining area, try using a bench on one side, that can sit flush against the wall to give you more space on the other side. Add some cushions against the back to make it cosier and give it more character. Shop Benches

Light it right

One of the most popular dining room accessories is the addition of the pendant lamp over the table. Drawing attention to the centre of the table, the lighting also has the effect of adding homeliness and style. Shop Pendant Lighting

Add a rug

There’s no doubt that a rug under a dining table adds colour, interest and homeliness, but the very thought of food dropping on the rug is too much for some of us neat freaks to bear. Try adding an indoor outdoor rug, made from tough specialised fabric which can easily be hosed off and dried in the sunshine so you needn’t fear stains. Shop Indoor / Outdoor rugs

Accessorize

Try adding art to the walls, and a centrepiece to the table to further accentuate your personal sense of style and make the dining room more of an interesting place to spend time in. Popular centrepieces include coloured or patterned runners, flowers or plants, candelabras and fruit bowls. Shop Home Decor
