Celebrating International Women's Day At RJ Living

We’re celebrating International Women's Day, acknowledging the immense contributions of women in the design industry. To celebrate this day, we'd like to take a moment to recognize some of the hardworking, talented, and inspiring women who make up RJ Living.

From developing innovative products to helping our customers, we’re full of amazing women who are making a lasting impact. Our team creates stunning designs for your homes as well as helps you find the perfect furniture for them, the talent and creativity that women bring to the RJ Living Team are invaluable. They have been instrumental in helping us create better products and experiences for our customers.

International Women's Day is an opportunity to recognize the many women who are making a difference and we chatted with some of our team to highlight their contributions to making RJ Living into what it is today.

Meet Our Team

Product & Design Manager

Milly McEwan

Bringing life to our products from concept to reality, Milly combines research, market trends and years of experience to build products that truly reflect the Australian lifestyle.

RJ: What's the achievement you're most proud of while working at RJ Living?

Over my time at RJ, I’ve been able to launch and develop our own uniquely designed furniture range, which has been a massive (but rewarding) task. I’ve been able to travel to visit our manufacturers and get to know each of them personally. It’s such a great feeling to follow each of our products from development to when it arrives to our customers.

I’ve also been able to grow our homewares offering featuring an incredible selection of local designers, makers and artists, as well as a select range of international designers.

RJ: Who are the inspirational women you look up to?

I’m incredibly lucky to work with a lot of inspirational women every day at RJ, who I’m constantly in awe of. Even though they may not be in my department, they bring their unique background, talent and creativity and work to raise the bar in their field which I admire. They’re all driven and hard workers, but they’re also really well-rounded, lovely people who are always around for a chat and advice. RJ wouldn’t be RJ without them!

Trade Manager

Bree Steele

Leading our Trade program, Bree’s interior expertise and sharp design eye help create unforgettable spaces for our clients.

RJ: What's the achievement you're most proud of while working at RJ Living?

Since joining RJ living only a short time ago, I’ve introduced an exciting service to the company. We now offer furniture packages and fit-outs to Trade clients and this makes me so excited as I love designing these and offering a service that helps our clients. I'm looking forward to seeing how far we can take these packages as well as being a part of some big exciting projects.

RJ: What do you love about being a woman in the design industry?

I love being a woman in the design industry because it allows me to bring a feminine touch to each design. I have a spiritual and emotive approach to my designs because I heavily focus on the way a space makes my clients feel. If I wasn't a woman I wouldn't have that ability to understand what makes a space create certain emotions and it allows me to connect with my clients and their designs on a different level.

Customer Support Team Lead

Grace Reyes

Grace and her infectious personality lead our support team to ensure that customers receive the assistance that they need for our products and services. She and her team help increase customer satisfaction and loyalty for the RJ Living brand.

RJ: What's the achievement you're most proud of while working at RJ Living?

I’ve been working in the e-commerce industry for the past 15 years and it’s truly a great opportunity to work with RJ Living. I’m proud to bring what I’ve learned from my previous jobs and share it with RJ Living as well as having an amazing team that works hard in making sure that customers are happy with their experience with the company. My passion for helping customers achieve their desired home design drives my love of my career, and whenever I see customers needing help with their orders, I know that my team and I can address the issue and make them happy and satisfied with the order and service.

RJ: What do you love about being a woman in the design industry?

What I love the most about being a woman in the design industry is that it allows new perspectives and can ultimately lead to the design being more accessible to everyone. A collaborative effort with a group of diverse individuals can lead to amazing and efficient designs and solutions.

Copywriting & Social Media

Nikki Requiero

With her love for writing and all things social media, Nikki makes sure that the RJ Living brand is reflected throughout our various online platforms.

RJ: What's the achievement you're most proud of while working at RJ Living?

Working with RJ Living for the past years has been an amazing journey and I’m extremely proud to see all the pieces of content I’ve written make an impact, as well as evolve to fit who RJ Living is today. I love being strategic and creative at the same time, and RJ lets me tap into that to grow our community online.

RJ: Who are the inspirational women you look up to?

Our team at RJ Living inspires me to push my design knowledge and be creative and they’re astounding women who make work extremely fun. As a mom and knowing now what it entails to raise kids, I also look up to my mother for navigating working and raising her kids at the same time!

Beth’s humour, style and creativity make her an invaluable member of our sales team, fostering genuine customer relationships as well as creating engaging content for our online channels.

RJ: What's the achievement you're most proud of while working at RJ Living?

Being asked my opinion on certain topics as my skills and outlooks are valued! I love seeing ideas come to life.

RJ: What do you love about being a woman in the design industry?

I love being a woman in the industry, as I love to be surrounded by other smart and creative women that allow me to see things in a new light.
